Data Deletion Instructions

If you have connected your Instagram account to Art+Ist and would like us to delete the data associated with your account, you can request deletion at any time. This page explains what data we hold and how to request its removal.

1. What data we hold

When you use Art+Ist and connect your Instagram account, we may hold the following data:

  • Your Instagram access token and basic account information (username and profile picture), used to enable artwork sharing
  • Your artist profile, including display name, bio, images, and contact details you have provided
  • Artwork listings, collections, and descriptions you have created
  • Messages and enquiries exchanged on the Platform
  • Order and transaction records (processed via Stripe)
  • Saved addresses, wishlists, and favourites

2. How to request deletion

You can request deletion of your data in either of the following ways:

  • Disconnect Instagram: Visit your Studio settings and disconnect your Instagram account. This immediately removes your Instagram access token from our systems.
  • Full account deletion: Email us at art.ist.uk@icloud.com from the email address registered on your account, requesting full deletion of your data.

3. What happens next

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will:

  • Remove your Instagram access token and connected account information within 7 days
  • Delete your profile, artwork listings, collections, messages, wishlists, and saved addresses within 30 days
  • Retain transaction records only where required for legal, tax, or accounting compliance (up to 7 years), after which they are permanently deleted

Once deletion is complete, your data cannot be recovered.

4. Third-party data

Some data is held by third-party providers and is governed by their own policies:

  • Stripe: Payment and banking data is managed by Stripe. To request deletion of data held by Stripe, contact Stripe directly or disconnect your Stripe account via your Studio settings.
  • Meta / Instagram: Data held by Meta (such as your Instagram posts and profile) remains under your control via your Instagram account settings. Disconnecting from Art+Ist does not delete content already published to your Instagram feed.
